Bob represents clients in the areas of medical malpractice defense, health care law, employment law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Bob has represented physicians, clinics, hospitals and long term care facilities in trial and regulatory matters in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. He has also presented numerous seminars on health care and employment law topics.
Bob is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice and is listed on the North Dakota Statewide ADR Neutral Roster for Civil Mediation. He recently served as the Chair of the Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the North Dakota Supreme Court and the State Bar Association of North Dakota. In addition to his extensive legal background, Bob has completed several courses in mediation, including the Mediation Workshop at the Program of Negotiation at Harvard Law School (June 2007).
Brigadier General Udland (Ret.) served as the Assistant Adjutant General-Army and Commander, Joint Training and Operations Command for the North Dakota National Guard. Bob previously served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army and the North Dakota National Guard, as well as Assistant Attorney General for the State of North Dakota. Bob received the Outstanding Chair Award from the State Bar Association of North Dakota for dedicated service to the State Bar Association Inquiry Committee West in 1999.
Bob is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law where he was Articles Editor of the Law Review. He also received his undergraduate degree from UND in 1970.
Bob is a native of Williston, North Dakota. He and his wife Ann live in Fargo, North Dakota where he is a member of the FM-AM Rotary Club. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with Ann.
